Coastal Christmas Decor
Sep 11, 2022
Who says holiday décor needs to be red & green? I am a beach girl at heart, and you will find coastal influences throughout our home. I lean into my love for the coast when decorating for Christmas. I firmly believe your holiday décor should complement your personal style, and if that means decorating with the colors of the sea and the coast, I say do it!
One of our favorite Christmas traditions is to add a new coastal themed glass ornament to feature on our Christmas tree, whether it is a seashell, mermaid, or whimsical fish! Another holiday tradition is to feature our special seashell Christmas trees, featuring oyster or abalone shells.
Like my artwork, I weave in gold and silver hues, and decorate with twine garland featuring mercury glass ornaments. These colors make wonderful accents when choosing a frame. Using frames from other countries is also inspiring and sets the scene perfectly. Choosing Frames from Italy, Portugal and Spain – countries I love for their seaside images as well as their rustic décor was a perfect fit.
The beautiful blue wood picture frame, made in Italy, shows those coastal colors with the pop of metallic that is repeated in the abstract artwork, and I absolutely love it!

The Slim Beige Picture Frame is the perfect complement to the abstract watercolor painting. A tiny frame for a tiny masterpiece!

My absolute favorite frame is this elegant gold beaded picture Frame that features a beloved gift from my friend. The painting is based on a photo I posted on my Instagram account of a stormy day in Wrightsville Beach, NC during a spontaneous birthday weekend getaway. My friend was inspired by my photo and turned it into this beautiful work of art- how talented is she?
